Tanjong Uban Mssion Trip Dec 2009

2009 was certainly a fruitful year in Mission for our cell. Just this last weekend, 8 of us were down Tg Uban again. This time round, we were there to celebrate Christmas with them. With the Christmas theme in mind, the whole bunch of us assumed various roles for both the adult and children service and carried them out all to the best of our abilities.

Just a few photos to share here.

Photo 1
Preparation before the adult service
(1) Filling our hungry stomach with hot Ayam Penyet (no food is shown, just us taking pic away while waiting for food)
(2) ZL doing some last minute prep for the worship powerpoint (which in the end we didn't use. But great effort still!)

Photo 2
The team at work for the adult evening service. Jade and LH leading games which the locals totally loved. Alice doing her Testimony of knowing Christ and of course Mr XB who shared the impt message of our salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. The rest of us were more involved with the children service on the next day. But no photos from me due to flat camera batt =(

Photo 3
The silent night moment - Singing Silent night (duh) with lights off and candle lit. All prep by the church there.
Photo 4
The locals having fun throughout the night - worshipping and enjoying the games and service.

Photo 5
My camera resurrected to give us this 1 last shot before we leave the house church. What a nice picture. And there's even a large painting thay prepared for Grace Assembly of God. I think it's hanging somewhere in Mike's house now.

Aug - Oct!

It's been some time since we updated the blog since the mission trip.

children's day event in the last weekend of Aug was fun but tiring. or at least really, the comments made by the kids are really whacky and cute (yes alice saying they are cute). Some of them are really smarter then their age, or even smarter than me.. astonishing! wat are those milk powders doing to kids siah.

Then It was the August birthday celebration in Zhou's kitchen.. Dunno where the pics are at though!! (prob in FB as usual!)

Sept bday celebration was at HV, Breko and 3 monkeys. Monkey suit man ended up serving us on teh table thinking we can't recognise him in his monkey suit, but we did hehe. and with xb waiting forlonly for his wine that never came.. boooo..

Prob should load more pictures here.. =)

Next up! OCt, some of them are going for the bintan trip for a followup. Benson, Mike, Arthur, candy, ray and sylvia.

Let's all pray for them!

bintan mission trip

This mission trip is a little different to me, for one of the rare times i "escaped" with nothing in charge.. .. Candy realised only after or during the trip.. =) *whew*

So i had plenty of chance and opportunity to observe.

Thank God for the folks who would rise up to the occasion to do something that they never dared or wanted to do despite the initial hesitation.. like Arthur in his sharing, Jade for Mc. . .slyvia and benson to take the courage to share the testimony..
And folks who are willing to use their giftings fully like amanda, yvonne and ruby in their kids, ben and ray for music, mike and jade in their language.. and definitely candy for coordinating the whole thing and present for every meeting and practise..

one thing i love is actually the teamwork that everybody is willing to help and coordinate and do their bit. .

Alot of us, actually do manage to click with folks and communicate with them, talk to them and pray with them, it's good to see that there are non christians who came to listen to the words and participate in the worship. It's good that we can sow some seeds in these ppl's heart..

Let's continue to pray for this church and the pastor.

Alice.
